Although Taraji says that she pulls from Lil Kim and Foxy Brown to create her character for “Cookie” on Lee Daniels Empire. Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Joseline Hernandez claims the part is actually based on her life.
She told VH1 in an interview:
“I love Empire, honey. I know Cookie been taking some lessons from me. I mean, where do you think she get it from? That ain’t all her character, that’s Joseline Hernandez’s character, honey. I know it for a fact. Shoutout to Miss Cookie though,”
